“I am probably the most practical Designer you will ever work with.” Joyce prides herself in making your home
or business a comfortable living space with a professional touch.

Growing up just outside of New York City, I was lucky to be surrounded by the arts. Having a creative Mom who enjoyed oil painting (which I could never get the knack of), we always had crafts, ceramic classes, pottery, and other projects continually going on in our home. My Aunt would take off work occasionally and take me into the city to museums and shows. I was a lucky girl. I also fell in love with ballet.
My High School had wonderful art classes. My favorite was Life Drawing, which was after school for selected mature artists. I would have never believed that drawing the human figure (yes, naked) could teach you so much.
In college I started out in Architecture and luckily had my brother to give me a crash course in drafting. Later I switched to Industrial Design where I learned how to design and build furniture. My first job out of college was designing displays for L’Oreal, Lancome and Maybelline. Then I moved onto exhibits (which was like a mini-architecture which I loved).
Life, of course changed when I had my first daughter (oh, yes, I got married first lol). I wanted to do something more home-based which brought me to interiors.
Being married to a Home Builder and Developer, I found myself re-locating a few times. I also learned construction and
worked together with him designing and building custom homes. We loved it and could talk about it 24/7.

Why I love what I do is, not only do I get reward from designing a beautiful space, I get a second (and more important) reward making someone happy in their home or workplace. When someone leaves a message or a review for me telling me how happy I made them, it more than makes my day. Yes, this is my business, but the money is secondary.
In a never changing, never boring industry, I will always welcome the challenge of creating new environments. Having a diverse background has only made me better equipped to take it on.
